BioVenezia and PIWI Veneto

The Biodistretto association of the organic production and community of Central-Eastern Venice, in short BioVenezia, was officially born on 5 November 2016 in Annone Veneto, and is the first biodistrict in Veneto.

It is a project born from the growing interest of citizens and producers in organic farming and aims to represent an eco-sustainable development model based on the involvement of local realities and on the active participation of its members.

Our cellar is one of the founding companies.

Many producers, distributors, restaurants, agritourisms, hotels and other tourism operators, universities and research bodies, consumers and, moreover, the Strada dei Vini association, the Consorzio Vini Venezia, the Consorzio di Bonifica, the Consorzio del Prosecco and Aiab (Italian association for organic agriculture) are part of BioVenezia.

Its geographical area of relevance is mainly Central-Eastern Venice, a territory that goes from Cavallino Treporti to San Michele al Tagliamento and also includes two municipalities in the province of Treviso, Motta di Livenza and Cessalto. Some of these municipalities have already joined the project as supporters.

Since 2021 BioVenezia has become the biodistrict of food, an extra protection and guarantee on our organic and “km 0” products for consumers.

But 2021 also marks another important milestone for our company: becomes a member of PIWI Veneto, an association founded in 2017 in Borgo Valbelluna (BL) to encourage the sharing of information between PIWI wine producers and make known to the consumer these new natural wines at "Zero Chemistry".

PIWI wines are wines of PI WI grapes ("pilzwiderstandsfähig" in German) resistant to fungal diseases, in particular to downy mildew and powdery mildew.

In 2022 we will finally be able to let you taste the first PIWI wines under the La Baratta brand.
